Quick workouts that banish brain fog and improve efficiency.
Dear Reader,
So, I was a busy bee this morning … as I often am.
I was engaged in creating a new product this morning — — roughly around 20,000 words or so, and while I was getting that done, I took a short break and did up another blog post and an “update” on LinkedIn — — perhaps another 1000 words or so — — perhaps a bit more.
Now, given that writing in general is one of the hardest things to do for most people, it might come across as amazing that while today was a “long” workday by my standards — — it wasn’t exceptional by any means.
In fact, there was a period last October (Sep — Oct) where I was literally chained to the keyboard creating products one after the other — — literally in the flow, and at the rate of a bare minimum of 15000–20000 words a day.
Woah, I hear you saying. Given you’ve got all the normal concerns a person with a family does — — as well as a rigorous workout schedule you keep to — how the heck do you keep up with that much work to do?
Well, first because I enjoy doing it. Though it’s tiring at best, and exhausting at the end of it all, I love doing it more than anything else, and I wouldn’t trade it for any “9–5” job anywhere in the world.
No way, Jose!
And second, there’s plenty of ways I keep fresh. Deep breathing is one of those ways, and visualization is yet another trick I use to keep the mind fresh and I’ve devoted more space to those topics HERE — check it out — https://0excusesfitness.com/2018/09/27/zap-fatigue-within-seconds/.
And back to workouts, YES — workouts are one of the primary means I manage to stay fresh — — both physically and mentally!
I don’t know if I said this before, but for me (given the style of workout I do), as little as 15–20 minutes of intense exercises results in hours (at the very least three — four) of increased productivity — — not to mention a fresh brain ready to think up new and innovative solutions to any challenges I might be facing at the time.
Short intense bouts of exercise do more than get your heart rate up — keep it up — and burn flab for long, long after you’re done working out.
Short, intense bouts of exercise do way more than to give your entire system a tune up from the inside out — as well as add years to your lungs and heart.
Despite all the obvious benefits and some of the non-obvious ones, the major benefit these little “spurts” of exercise give us creators and people in general is this — a fresh mind — and a mind fully focused upon work once you get back to it, which given the workouts only last fifteen minutes or so, doesn’t take long at all!
And if you don’t believe me — — well, how about this.
I’ve mentioned before that a 100 push-ups shouldn’t take any more than 12 minutes or so to do if you’re in halfway decent shape.
Let’s give you 15 minutes and say 80–100 odd pushups to do. Thats it. Thats your workout for the day!
Heck, let me give you TWENTY minutes to do it as I’m pretty sure the average person reading this will need that much time and more.
Drop down right now and give me a 100 — — and don’t just do the pushups. Focus on doing them with proper form and how they make you BREATHE.
I bet it’s heavy, my friend — — and this deep breathing, done correctly is what opens the floodgates to your lungs and your BRAIN.
I devote an entire Chapter to deep breathing in the 0 Excuses Fitness System and with good reason, as you can tell!
You oxygenate your entire body with life giving, fog removing OXYGEN — and not only strengthen your lungs with the quick bursts of exercise — but also give your entire immune and endocrine system a tune up literally from the “inside out” — that in addition to the other benefits I’ve mentioned above!
And the best part — not only can you get this done in your living room — or office — or study — but you can get right back to work thereafter with little or no delay!
So ditch the coffee, and other caffeinated drinks — or beverage of choice that you might be using to freshen your mind up to tackle the next challenge head on.
There’s a far better way — and it involves nothing but your own body — and a few minutes of your time.
Try it today and let me how it goes. The 0 Excuses Fitness System contains plenty more such quick workouts — — each of them guaranteed to whoop your butt into better shape — — nigh quick, and leave you feeling great thereafter!
Grab it today if you so choose, and watch your productivity skyrocket!
Best,
Rahul Mookerjee
